Between- The space between dimensions, realities, metaverses, etc, that typically keeps them from interacting with each other or interfering with one another.
Metaverse- There are three known metaverses; Nascency, Corporeality, and Ruination. Currently; Portal Prime contains pieces of Corporeality. So far the other metaverses have not been affected by the dimensional warp.Nascency- is where one might find places like Heaven, Hell, Hades, Asphodel Meadows, Purgatory, Limbo, Yomi or any other place of the dead or noncorporeal life, or places of the afterlife or the Gods and Goddesses.
Corporeality- is where most of the dimensions exist. Here would be places like Earth and other planets, the Dimension Warp and any other place of the living.
Ruination- is a vast place of near nothingness as far as anyone knows. It is theorized to be made of the same material as the Never. That material has been called many things; mordite, antilife, deathstone, the Nothing and much more. As far as anyone knows; nothing lives or exists in Ruination to the knowledge of most but the All Mother and some others know it as the home of the Eldritch Abomination. Nothing save for them can exist within Ruination, not even the All Mother.
Multiverse- referring to everything, not just our own universe, but every other universe, every parallel dimension and alternate time frame and plane of existence. Typically though this refers only to the Corporeality Metaverse, but technically includes all three Metaverses depending on the context with which it is used.
Dimension/Reality/Actuality- a singular universe, a singular time frame, a single realm, just one part of a Metaverse.
Plane- planes are usually near perfect copies of a dimension that overlap, but are subtly different from the original. Planes are places where Corporeality and Nascency overlap naturally, and to varying degrees.
Portal Prime- This is a new planet that was created when the universes collided in the dimension warp. It is made up of parts of other universes. The Intersection lies at the heart of the planet of Portal Prime.
Dimension Warp- The collision of the universes and the Time of Chaos shortly after, is also often referred to as the dimension warp.
- Moving from one dimension to another is sometimes called dimension warping.
Intersection- this refers to the point at which all places cross, the place at which all of the universes of Corporeality are accessible, it is all places but is also an un-place, a realm of non-existence, it is a dangerous place as it is very very near to Ruination. Time doesn't touch the Intersection in the way it touches other realms. Time is both slowed and sped up here depending on the moment and the perception of the one within it. The "creation of the Dimension Warp" is sometimes used synonymously with the "creation of the Intersection" as the Intersection was not accessible to anyone save the All Mother before the collision of the universes. The Never- This is the most dangerous place in the Intersection. Here is the root of all life and death, the source of between, the heart of anti-matter and anti-life. It is a seething pit of utter blackness and burning light, like a rainbow of the End. It isn't Death, it isn't Life, it is Nothing. If one were to touch the pit of nothing, you would not die, you would simply be undone; your soul erased, your existence abolished, as if you never were. Some believe that The Never is a portal into Ruination which explains the deadliness of it well.
Laws of the Multiverse- these are the laws that govern how the many dimensions/universes interact with one another. Sort of like the laws of Physics.
In the history of the Dimension Warp and since the settling of the Intersection the Laws of the Multiverse have been decimated to a dangerous point. The entire Multiverse could end at any moment should the Laws be fractured any further.Law One; The universes are separated by a thin layer of "between" similar to anti-matter. This anti-matter will typically adapt quickly to compensate for changes in the universes to keep them from intersecting; especially when a being travels between universes. (This law is bent out of shape, though it remains mostly intact.)
Law Two; Beings that are somehow forced from their own realm/universe will be altered to fit the realm they are misplaced into by the Between and will have no knowledge of their original home, be unable to tell they are not in their home, or will be fractured mentally to appear unstable to those in their new home. (This law has mostly been fractured beyond repair since the collision of the dimensions and rarely works effectively if at all on any creature.)
