Beaten and bloody, Scalder grit her teeth as her body was forcefully moved by Lix. A puppet on a string, and only allowed to flex her thoughts, the hybrid woman struggled to grip the reality of her situation as they moved out of the destroyed guest room. The scream of iron and electricity could be easily felt, the security walls were rising, but there was no way she could escape, let alone turn her head to the side so she could gaze out the window. Aemilius’s clunking footsteps weren’t far behind them, the bedroom door slammed shut, and he seemed to give them a large amount of space before pursuing. None of it mattered though, as Scalder was suddenly victim to a disorienting ride of sudden consciousness and forced sleep. When she woke, Aemilius’s footsteps were no longer there, and the hallway, glass walls, and looming sense of dread melted away; Lix’s presence was the only constant. Like a serpent weaving between her veins, gripping her muscles, and coercing her mind. Once a captain, now an obedient pet. Scalder could only marvel and simmer in her own frustrations when she was momentarily conscious throughout their walk through the house. The sensation was maddening yet undeniably attractive. With wide eyes and a partially gaped mouth, Scalder stepped in stride with the goddess no matter how much she fought against her power. All she saw was a smirk before dipping gingerly into a deeper subconscious. Rendered blind to what her own body was doing, the blonde spitfire was fully aware of how vulnerable she was. Albeit, she understood the innate complexity of the influence she was under, but while in the awe of its power, she found an overwhelming comfort; no substance she’d ever come across had made her feel this way. There was really no way to compare the two.
Sudden consciousness. The hybrid woman drew in a sharp breath, lifting her hanging head simultaneously and glancing around the hall like a rabid animal. Someone was carrying her, that was all she knew before sinking back into the exhilarating ocean of Lix’s influence. Her stomach churned momentarily, it felt as if her body was plummeting, falling faster and faster until she grit her teeth, anticipating a massive collision with the ground. But, it never came, and the sensation ebbed away when Scalder finally let go of everything, completely. Only the fleeting bouts of random thoughts reminded her she was real, but Lix’s presence was always there to calm her if Scalder began to unravel. Another breath was hastily sucked into her lungs, she sat up straight, immediately feeling the cold touch of a metal table underneath. Tanned skinned rippled as she glanced around her but saw nothing. Lix was holding her sight hostage for some reason. The weight of consciousness was unnerving, and much to Scalder’s surprise, she found herself wanting back that state of mind only the silver kissed woman could offer. Not a single tune was uttered, of her own free will Scalder gently rested back against the table and closed her lids slowly; and like a blanket of warmth and teasing sensuality, she was enveloped by her power, and blissfully unaware of everything else.
Lix, the name arched across her thoughts like a star, lulling her mind until all was still. Time didn’t exist here, in fact, Scalder’s thoughts kept cycling back to that questioning of herself. The epiphany was accompanied by the sound of bubbling water, interluding with the honey soaked vocals of Lix’s laughter. It was an infectious song, causing the winged woman to chuckle herself as she began to wake. Scalder slowly became aware of her physical body once more, it was being dipped down into lukewarm water, bringing forth her onyx and mauve mertail. At last she floated freely, completely submerged, but still unable to see and move of her own free will. As if Scalder already knew what was to come next, she quieted herself and waited patiently as a chilling energy worked from the tips of her fluke, and crept all the way up to her skull. Without warning a massive amount of adrenaline poured into her veins, shocking her body and pulling the hellcat from her deep-rooted slumber. Eyelids flung open, her lips parting as she drank in water and allowed her respiratory system to adjust to the changes. The water was calming despite how energized she felt, Lix likely knew she’d wake up easier here. Scalders wide fin and tail flexed effortlessly, gently turning her in a small circles and allowing her to take a glance around. Skyclad eyes peered through a forest of luminescent green seaweed, sunlight and soft waves revealed the multitudes of hidden hues, their roots buried in mounds of velvety yellow sand. Small colorful fish paid the woman no mind as she wove her body through to the edge, it immediately dropped off into a wondrous dark abyss, the bottom unseen as even the sunlight wasn’t allowed to touch the mysterious depths. The entirety of the expanse was meant to look open, a never ending oceanic view, but Scalder could feel the invisible walls, she could still feel Lix all around her, inside her mind. There would be no way to measure the true volume of this place, but from Scalder’s eyes alone, it looked like she was a mile or two offshore of Amzrill. The plant life, coral reefs, and even the fish looked familiar. A small part of her knew this was all fabricated, but she couldn’t help the waves of nostalgia that washed over her thoughts, back when she was just a child. Just as her favorite memories were resurrected, a pod of golden kissed dolphins rose from the deceptive expanse, dancing around one another as they approached Scalder, spinning and turning in a choreographed movement only they knew. The hybrid woman had stayed near the edge of the seaweed forest, watching in awe and remembrance as they slowed but made tight circles around her, inviting her to play. But, a flood of emotions took her by surprise, and so she quickly rose to the surface of the water, unable to withstand the weight of them. She didn’t want to. She broke the surface of the water hastily, water splashing about as she slapped a flat hand on the surface out of frustration. Scalder was blindsided by her memories, and unwilling to process them, her mind suggested she turn to old habits, immediately missing her deep slumber, the drink, drugs. Biting her lip, she pushed her dreads roughly out of her face and tipped her head back to look at the sky. The sunlight was natural. Fresh air filled her lungs as her anatomy adjusted to the change, her tanned skin sparkling with the runnels of water that careened down her bodice as she swam towards the edge of the large pond. Massive rose quartz stones had been smoothed over, and lipped out into the water to great her; warm and radiating with good energy, this was the perfect basking place. With ease, Scalder pulled herself out of the water and plopped her body on the largest stone that framed the expanse. Looking outward, it seemed to be a moderately sized garden, with multitudes of exotic looking flowers, fungi, vines, shrubs, and tall trees. There was a lavish sitting area not far off behind her, but the infamous glass house had already captured her attention. It loomed on the opposite side of the pond, revealing all of its insides, but no movement could been seen anywhere.
”Where the fuck am I…” Eyes scoured every visible inch from where she lay, the length of her tail slowly began to disappear, her wide fluke the only thing left in the water as she stroked gently. She assumed It was a different part of the house, as she couldn’t see the room she’d been in earlier. The many peaks and edges held no definitive pattern, but she committed what she could see to memory before turning onto her stomach to gaze at the trees behind. The pulsating energy of the walls could only be felt, but all she could see were rows and rows of trees and plants. A very clever idea on Lix’s behalf, as it made a massive difference in Scalder’s current state of mind. Alert but calm. She didn’t feel that overwhelming need to run or fight. Now, whether that was because of Lix, or Scalder’s constantly skewed perception of her own well-being, she didn’t care anymore.
After every drop of water was dried by the sun, her legs emerged from the strong scales, toes wiggling as she stretched out her naked body and then rose to her feet with a loud grunt. Harboring zero guilt for her naked body, she strode confidently towards the sitting area, pushing past the lavender sheer veils that braided every inch of the large canopy up above. Dark purple couches lined the square space, framing a rose quarts table that matched the edges of the pool behind her. Although there was still grass underfoot, the texture felt like silk, caressing her feet with each step until she rested her body on the couch that allowed her to keep the house in sight. It was a beautiful place, but the hybrid woman was becoming all too aware of how sober she was, in fact, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt this way. Her left leg began to jerk nervously, her hands clasping one another in her lap just before she brought the right hand up to her mouth. Nervous nail chewing, another bad habit, but this one was the least of her concerns. Scalder’s curious gaze turned to a much more frustrated expression, and after about ten minutes of combustible silence, she finally spoke up, not sure what the hell she was suppose to be doing.
”THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS GIVE ME A FUCKING DRINK! WHAT AM I D-”, she stopped halfway through, her raised voice interrupted by a beacon that lit up a frosted over glass door. It was surrounded by vines and trees on either side, but in no way did it look connected to the house, but rather, as if it had sprung from the ground like a flower. Eyes narrowed on the entrance, it hadn’t been there earlier, but she rose nonetheless and walked across the soothing grass, blonde dreads and breasts bouncing due to her quick pace. Obviously this Lix was constantly watching, listening; Scalder didn’t know if she found that comforting or alarming. Fully expecting another bedroom like she’d been in earlier, Scalder was taken aback when she stepped over the threshold. It was dark for a fraction of a second, and then a kaleidoscope of shifting stars and planets surrounded the woman completely. Here, Scalder could feel no walls, but she knew better than to believe this was real. Without warning the galactic surrounding began to swirl, the stars melting and the planets smearing until their shapes were no longer distinguishable. Space gave way to blue skies and curling mist, the sun was perfectly veiled by a luminous collection of opalescent and ivory clouds; and just like all the other rooms, it was guised to feel completely open and promising an endless trip if she chose to explore. For a moment she thought about testing her new reality, but more beacons of light conveniently drew her attention. In the open expanse just above her eye line, bright neon purple words hoovered, coming into view as if they were being written then and there. ’Say please, and you may have anything within reason.’ A singular brow rose, giving her smirk a dubious expression, her full lips eventually smoothing out to release a chortle. Scalder was armed to the teeth with snarky rebuttals, but after everything she’d experienced, and feeling the true depth of Lix’s power, she complied for the first time in her life. ”Please.” The word oozed through her clenched teeth, strong arms winding into one another as she crossed them sternly across her breasts. ”That’s the only one you’re getting, enjoy it.” Scalder’s stubborn streak reared its presence, but the words popped out of view like bubbles, satisfied.
At the flick of a switch, endless skies and clouds disappeared, revealing what she assumed to be the true dimensions of the room. Or rather, an entire level of the house, as it was as large as her ship’s central command. The floor plan was open, but the varying styles of each section differentiated the rooms. There were a total of five different spaces, four in each corner, and one at the center, each able to comfortably suit up to ten people. The electric purple and blue bar immediately drew her attention. The ninety degree angle was perfect for showcasing the hundreds of bottles, the glass walls were lined with frosted shelving, and without a single gap to be found, Scalder found herself feeling rather giddy. So, maybe this pet thing wasn’t so bad? She thought silently, noting how each detail was flawlessly carved to suppress any anxiety she could muster.
There was a lounging area adjacent to the bar, lined with couches and massive pillows, most of them were muted colors with highlights of random hues here and there. She liked how it dipped down three steps, and then bedroom alongside it went up four. Chuckling to herself, Scalder stood at the center room and just stared at it all for a moment in disbelief. Yeah, she’d been in nice places, but this would be something she’d create for herself, down to the last detail. Lix seemed to know her intimately now.
Before sitting at the bar, Scalder spied clothes on the bed, and ascended the stairs to slip into whatever they were. The black carpet was even softer than the grass outside, and as she moved she leaned down to drag her fingers through the shaggy strands. The bed was adorned in cushy azul blankets and pillows, the frame and headboard made of smoothed obsidian stone. Among the blankets, a dark purple slip stood out against the lighter colors. This wasn’t something she’d wear, it was silky and hemmed with black lace, but there was also a tantalizing smell to it. Floral, like perfume, as if someone had been wearing it not long ago. Without warning, flashing images of Lix invaded her vision. She was wearing the slip, translucent skin glowing slightly as she laughed low and soft, long lashes winking flirtatiously. Scalder dropped the garment and rubbed her eyes furiously, muttering curses under her breath as she regained her sight and spotted the showering area. Was she trying to fucking brainwash her? Moreover bothered by the idea, she pursed her lips and jumped across the large bed effortlessly, stepping down into the bathroom. Carpet turned to tile underfoot, the floor angling down ever so slightly to draw back any water into the drain. There was a shower head reaching out from the wall, but no curtain, no bath, and only a neighboring toilet. Off to the side was a massive vanity space and a large closet built into the wall, but that was it. If there was anyone outside, they’d easily be able to see her, but then again, a part of Scalder kind of liked that. The openness of the floor was oddly calming.
As Scalder moved closer towards the window to peer out, the trees outside turned in their roots and shifted their limbs to skew most of her view, but also shielding the hellish woman from prying eyes. ‘Harrumphing’ under her breath, she studied what she could see through gaps in the limbs; a barn, and a part of a pasture, nothing more.
”You reeaallly did your research..Lix.” As soon as the calling passed her lips, images of her face flashed before Scalder’s eyes, stealing her sight momentarily. Some were still images, like personalized portraits, but this time the goddess moved before her blind eyes. Lengthy strings of pale hair framing her sharply angled features perfectly, full lips blowing a kiss before she disappeared completely, and the room came back into view. It was disorienting, annoying. Scalder shook her head momentarily before she turned on her heels, aiming her path towards the closet, but she couldn’t help but cast her light eyes across the floor to the bar in the opposite corner. All of a sudden she was acutely aware of how dry her throat was, and that small tremor in her hands that caused her fingers to twitch nervously as she glanced inside the closet. The door slid back into the wall, it’s hue the same as the tile alongside. Surprisingly, every piece of clothing was incredibly similar to what she had on the ship, just the materials were different. Fingertips gingerly rolled the fabric between her fingers for a moment as she peered quickly through the selections. The first pair of black sweats and a simple tshirt were chosen. ”Muuuch better…” She mumbled, pulling the white t over her head, and practically jumping into the pants. They were soft and fit perfectly, but Scalder’s thoughts had already moved on to which bottle she wanted to try first. Letting out an excited squeal, her bare feet carried her across the level as quickly as they could move. She spun a chair enthusiastically and leapt over the bar, not bothering to take the time to go around. There was a large jug on the bottom shelf at the center of the wide lip, glowing enticingly with hues of orange and bright yellow, swirling continuously and popping audibly when Scalder pulled out the cork. Like miniature fireworks, sparkling granules exploded out from the top, dissipating into the air as they floated away. A string of low chuckles pushed past her lips as she watched, her tongue brushing across her lips in anticipation. Not bothering to grab one of the many glasses lined up around her, she put the top to her lips and drank down a few gulps. The damn thing was twice the size of her head, but she held it up easily with one hand, the other reaching out to rest atop the bar. A low moan radiated from her chest, the liquid sloshing as she dropped the jug back down and smacked her lips obnoxiously. There was no way to put into words how wonderful it had tasted, some flavors familiar, others completely new, and they didn’t stop traipsing across her palette even after the liquid had been swallowed. More and more liquors made it into her stomach, all downed with the speed of a dying soul with no tomorrow. Getting completely obliterated was something she was accustomed to, so even after the tenth bottle had been emptied, the herb drawers raided, and what felt like three or maybe four days had passed, she felt thoroughly fucked up. Granted, she didn’t need to eat to survive, but a sandwich was sounding pretty damn good at the moment. There had to be a kitchen somewhere in this fuckery. Scalder chuckled for no reason, her vision blurring slightly when she turned her head too quickly while standing up from behind the bar. All this space given, yet she’d barely even explored, too preoccupied by what Lix had given her. There were stains all over her clothes, and her dreads were sticking out in the most amusing ways, but how she looked was the last concern on her mind. Weaving every three steps, she grasped a half-empty bottle of glowing red liquid in her left hand, her right brushing the few strands out of her eyes so she could see. Scalder hadn’t noticed, but the glow about the floor had dimmed significantly over the past few days, and the flashes of Lix’s face had stopped invading her vision hours ago. The center room had no definitive purpose from what she’d seen earlier, it was flat with no furniture, and colored a crisp white, but now there was something quite different about the expanse. A staircase had appeared, leading down into what Scalder thought was another floor. But, alongside it was a door, similar to the one that had lead her inside from the garden. It held no frame, and seemed to be a portal rather than an actual doorway. Slowing her pace, and trying to straighten up a bit, she took a small swig and stared at both passages, managing to spill another splash of red onto her previously white shirt.
”Which one-which one….” A heavy sigh passed through her nose as she decided, light eyes sparkling mischievously as she drank down all that was left in the bottle. With a loud triumphant belch she dropped it at her side, and wiped her mouth with the backside of her hand, swaying in place slightly before she took a step towards the door. Three more wobbly paces and she was through it and transported into a long hallway she slightly recognized, but at this point she was so inebriated she could care less that she’d escaped her room. Well really, she wasn’t even trying to leave, but moreover hypnotized by the idea of getting a simple sandwich. The hybrid woman hadn’t missed food this much before. The red drink she’d just sucked down had severely slowed her motor skills, each step felt like eternity, and she didn’t know when these damned hallways were going to end. Realistically it’d only been three, but to her it felt like fifty. Thankfully the fourth hallway gave way to a circular room with a myriad of other doors. It looked familiar, thoughts reached back to her memories, plucking the one from when she’d just left the garden pool and parked it on those purple couches. Blinking furiously, she clumsily stepped into warm sunlight reaching through the glass walls, peering out in search of the garden to confirm her thoughts. There it was, sleeping soundly a few feet over to the right, wedged right up next to the house for security purposes she assumed.
Scalder chose the door at the very center and strode through an even larger hallway that was home to multitudes of other bedrooms. She glanced into each of them quickly, not even bothering to knock, and not worried about if they’d been occupied. None had sandwiches.
”Where the hell is the mess hall?!” The sound of her vocals bounced against the walls, echoing slightly until all that resonated were her footsteps. A grand ballroom opened up to her next, easily able to fit crowds of people she assumed. It was lavish and had a smooth dance floor, but that was about all the details she cared to retain. Scalder broke out into a jog trying to cross it faster, but her weaving was getting worse, and it had likely taken longer than if she’d just walked. Just as she reached the next door, she tripped over a chair and fell through; luckily it was a swinging door so it immediately gave way. ”Son of a twat-waffling whore!” Scalder hit the ground hard, but when she lifted her head, light dreads covering most of her face, she was pleased to see she’d fallen into a massive kitchen. It was empty of souls, but there was a massive amount of already cooked food, she could smell it. Like a cartoon character, she rose from the ground and practically gravitated towards the tabletop lined with steaming plates of cooked chicken, steak, a plethora of vegetables, and even some cakes at the other end. In Scalder’s mind the steam formed a come-hither finger, tempting every instinct to just attacked the table in a carnivorous frenzy. But, she’d wanted a sandwich! There was bread at the center of the large prepping table, but she couldn’t reach the damn thing. Of course. Without a second thought the woman clumsily mounted the table, knocking plates and food everywhere before she reached the bowl and triumphantly grasped a massive loaf of bread. It was freshly cooked and really hot, but she ripped it open nonetheless and began to shove a massive steak in between. The sound of glass breaking hadn’t reached her attention, nor the piles of spoiled food all around her. Only her delicious sandwich was at the forefront of her attention. With a howling stomach she stared at it for a moment, squatting atop the table like an animal, and growling slightly when she took her first bite. So tender, so juicy… ”Holy fuck-all this is good…”
